Who We Are
Julie Roth
Julie started her career in the legacy media of books and magazines, then made the transition to new media in 1997. As Executive Producer of NetGuide, one of the Web's early general-audience sites, Julie helped create many of what are now considered "best practices" in website content, usability, and marketing -- making the site one of the Web's first profitable properties.
At nationally acclaimed APBnews.com, Julie produced content that was a finalist for the 1999 Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Award for Web reporting, then increased the site's unique visitors from 311,000 to 1,052,000 as the Director of Marketing and Online Strategies. More recently, Julie advised on the Webby Award-winning Justice Learning, a partnership between The New York Times Learning Network and NPR radio's "Justice Talking."
Julie is currently an independent consultant in new media strategy, account management, and project management. Her clients have included Nickelodeon, Evian Natural Spring Water, Remington Products, the UN Millennium Campaign, human rights organization Witness, and U.S. PIRG.
In her "free time," Julie develops English and history curricula for home-schooled students grades 9 to 12.
